Terms & Conditions.

Paying for your trip

A full payment is required to secure your booking. The minimum stay is 2 nights on bank holidays and weekends. Prices for adults and children vary depending on time of year. The is no charge for infants under 3 years.

Cancellation Policy

Our cancellation policy is 30 days notice or longer your full amount less 10% of the booking as an admin fee per booking will be returned to you. No refund under 30 days for the simple reason that it can be hard to find a replacement booking within that time. If a group arrives with fewer than the reserved number of visitors, the group will be charged in full for those that haven’t turned up. We recommend travel insurance to cover cancellation, loss, damage or injury.

Dogs

We are happy to welcome dog owners, who have well behaved, non-yappy dogs which are ALWAYS on a lead. Owners of an un-attented dog (or dogs mess) will be required to leave and without compensation. Stray dogs on farmland, are very likely to be shot.

Day Visitors

We do NOT allow day visitors, except in exceptional circumstances! We have a total occupancy for each campsite and we strictly limit the number of visitors that we allow on site. It therefore makes no sense allowing unfettered access to non-paying visitors, who will just spoil the peace and tranquillity for all.

On Site

No Caravans, large Camper Vans or Motorhomes. VW campers (or similar) are more than welcome.

Campfires

Each pitch has a fire pit for you to use. We insist that all firewood burned on site is bought through us. We have plentiful supplies of firewood & kindling on site (£7 per bag).  Long Meadow is is near woodland, which is under threat from destructive diseases such as Dutch Elm disease, Ash Dieback and Bleeding Canker in Horse Chestnuts. These may be spread by spores from burning wood and while we are sure our wood is disease-free, we cannot take the risk on wood from unknown sources. We also do not allow processed wood, which are invariably polluting & include nails and other metal objects. Our meadows are grazed by livestock in the closed season and these can cause suffering and death.

BBQs

We only allow BBQ’s that are off-the-ground, but you can have a campfire barbecue if you wish (bring a grid). Disposable BBQ’s are not allowed.

Noise

Non-accoustic music is not allowed (ie radio’s phones, car stereo’s etc) and while we tolerate acoustic music, people must be considerate of their neighbours. Banter around the fire until the early hours is encouraged, but quiet time is after 2200 and before 7am (to include early-rising children!), when disorderly behaviour, gratuitous noise, shouting, singing or screaming will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to immediately ask you to leave should this occur. Hen & Stag parties are not permitted. We do not allow fireworks or Chinese lanterns.

Rubbish & Waste

We ask that all rubbish is removed from the site and you will need to bring bin bags with you. We manage our campsites sustainably and we cannot deal with large amounts of rubbish.

Personal Property & Injury

We cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal possessions or vehicles during your stay. Neither do we accept responsibility for accidental injuries. Please be aware that this is a working farm and that there are streams/ponds livestock and heavy agricultural machinery on the farm, so children should not be left unattended at any time.
